Howie Payne spent some of his teenage years living in New York but moved back to Liverpool at the age of 17, on his own, to start a band and within months this first band had got a support slot on a gig by The Farm at The Royal Court. The photo is in my book Pop Cultured and features Howie's sister Candie Payne talking about him.
Howie went on to form a few more bands (The Windmills, The Stands and Blue Seed) but this year he has his debut solo release under the name of Howard Eliott Payne.
